A stunning combination of his sire CALIGULA & VENGADOR(Don Julio Barreda's coveted Sher Kahn line) ZION is half brother to deceased EL NINO. Caligula was one of the most influential males imported from Peru & has had a great impact on the alpaca industry. Caligula's offspring & in turn their offspring have produced champions in the showring with the densest of fleeces which also incorporate fineness, a combination so hard to achieve, in both white & color.
Zion's dam VENGADOR'S ACCOYO NIRVANA has consistently been a top producer for Pacific Crest Alpacas. We know that the Vengador & Caligula lines have been a winning combination & in Zion we have both the outstanding phenotype backed up by proven genetics.
ZION has an elite fleece with tiny bundles that must be felt to be fully appreciated. He is incredibly dense but does not sacrifice fineness as his AFD & CV have remained low for a breeding accoyo male. His high frequency high amplitude crimp style & long staple length is consistent over the blanket, neck, legs & rump without noticeable medullation. And his softness begs you to bury your hands deep into his fleece! He is compact with a medium well balanced build & perfect conformation with all the regal presence you would expect him to display-and the gentleness that makes him a dream to handle.
Zion's offspring have been spectacular including Color Champions and ribbon winners in white and solid colors. He has produced Rosegrey from Black!
ZION is still breeding but due to arthritis we have decided to retire him. We still have alpacas for sale that have him in their pedigree.
7/31/2018 We are sad to announce that Zion passed away today, leaving a hole in our herd and our hearts. Thank you Zion for your immense contribution to our herd and for being such a pleasant soul.

Full Peruvian - NWA, LTD PERUVIAN HANNAH was the first cria born to HERITAGE ALPACAS and is Ted's favorite girl. She is a cross between the genetics of SNOWMASTER, DON JULIO, and HEMINGWAY.
Hannah's exquisite first fleece had an AFD of 13.2-Yocum-MoColl's tested it twice because, they emailed, "We don't see many alpaca fleeces this fine." Her 2006 Histogram is as follows: AFD 21.9 SD 3.9 Cv 17.8 %over 30 3.3 which is virtually unchanged from last year. These are the fiber genetics we are all breeding for!
Her bright, incredibly soft white fleece has 8 tiny crimps per inch and it's character has held though her third shearing. Even her staple length has remained incredibly long. She has the most beautiful head.

HAWTHORNE is a stunning offspring of our full accoyo Caligula son ACCOYO AMERICA ZION and Peruvian Hannah, a Hemingway and Snowmaster granddaughter. This combination of Hannah whose first fleece had an AFD of 13.6 and has maintained her fineness, and berber dense Zion has already produced Zion's Peruvian Holly. Hawthorne shows the same ultra bright, fine fleece with tiny bundling crimp. Conformationally he is correct and will be of medium build. He already has lots of presence. Hawthorne has his father's exceptional density, but he is much finer than sister Holly who sheared 12.5lb of fiber at 2 years. Hawthorne has a beautiful head style typical of the Caligula line with a nice well formed topknot.
Hawthorne's distinguished ancestors include Caligula, Vengador, Hemingway, Snowmaster, and Don Julio.
Hawthorne's dam has thrown pure white cria and a true black cria with NO white fibers so I would not hesitate to use him especially if you are looking to add character to colored dams! His lips are very dark and has dark eyeliner around the eyes. He is one those boys who had a nice fleece his first year but his second fleece has developed into something very special and he is maintaining it over the years. He is developing a consistent Hemingway style fleece with crimp all the way up the neck and well into the belly which is very very soft and bright. His density is deceiving as he is so fine, little medulation and excellent conformation complete the package.
Look at the Hawthorne's histograms-CV and SD virtually the same with a high curvature consistent with finess! Please see his EPD information on the ARI website. Hawthorne is ready to breed now to bring these most desirable fleece traits into your herd.
Although we have never used him because his sire Zion is still breeding, we would like to maintain breedings. This is a really special male that I can't really use and I am keeping his sister Satin Bell's Jumanji son. I hope a breeder will see his value, especially since his sire, Accoyo America Zion, is recently deceased.
